Hoverdia® Eighteen is not merely the placement of numbers (similar to Sudoku) but also involving simple addition and deduction (Kakuro).
This puzzle is best represented by 8 long horizontal blocks and 8 long vertical blocks; and consist of 8 small boxes, which give the total of 64 boxes.
All 8 long horizontal blocks and 8 long vertical blocks must contain all of the numbers from 1 to 8 inclusively without repeating any thereof - RULE ONE.
The main puzzle with 64 boxes is also represented by 4 sub-puzzles which are called Quarters and each quarter is made up of 4x4 short blocks.
For RULE TWO in each of the 4 quarters, all the blocks with 4 small boxes must be added up to the sum of 18 (Eighteen) not only horizontally and vertically but diagonally as well. Downoad trial from http://www.hoverdia.com/hvdpuzzles1.html
