Description
Word Find Mobile is a childhood game brought to your handset that provides hours of eager searching to find hidden words in a maze of letters. The game will allow you to define the number of words that are hidden in each game board, set the colors of the text and the background, turn sound on and off, or show gridlines between the rows and columns. The game will determine the size of the game board according to the devices screen size, the size of the font for the game board and whether the current word list is displayed at the bottom of the game board.
The game will build the game board by randomly selecting words from the available word list, then randomly select a direction for the word to be placed in the game board, i.e. up, down, left, right, diagonal up, diagonal down. Once the number of words placed in the table matches the number selected per game, the game then fills in the empty slots with randomly chosen letters. This provides for an endless arrangement of game boards.
Purpose
The purpose of the game is to find a specific list of words in the list of letters presenting on the game board. The words can be forward, backward, diagonal up and to the left or right, diagonal down and to the left or right. Once a word has been located the cursor must be placed on the first letter of the word and the “activate” or “fire” button must be pressed. Once the “find” has been started, the cursor must be moved to the last letter of the word and the “activate” or “fire” button should be pressed again. As the cursor is moved during the “find” process, a wireframe will appear around the letters selected. This is to help identify the letters that are included in the word. If the selection matches a word that is in the “Current” list of words, then the word in the word list will be identified as “found”.
Controls
To move the cursor to a specific location use one of the following:
1. Trackball – by rolling the trackball up/down/left/right.
2. “2” for up, “6” for right, “8” for down, “4” for left and “5” for fire.
3. Up/down/left/right arrow keys.
4. Pointer or touch screens can simply touch the first and last character or drag from first to last.
To select a letter, which could be the first or last letter of the word, press the “Activate” key. For some phones this is the Trackball, while others it may be the “Space” key, and yet others it’s the center button within the circle of arrows. For touch screens, just touch the first letter and either drag your finger to the last letter and let go, or press the first letter, then press the last letter.
To access the menu, press the “Menu” button. For some devices this is a specific button. For other devices it may be the left or right function buttons.
